Learning Strategies: Photo-Taking and Note-Taking

Explanation

The aim of this study is to evaluate the effects of common learning strategies, such as note-taking and photo-taking, on memory performance. During the experiment, some lecture slides will be presented to the participants. In the meantime, they will be asked to take notes, take photos of the slides, and/or just evaluate the slides. Besides, participants may be asked to rate their likelihood of remembering each slide. Afterward, they will complete a memory test about the lecture slides.

Perceptual Fluency and Memory Performance in Eyewitness Testimony

Explanation

This study investigates how video materials presented with different levels of perceptual fluency influence memory processes. In the study, participants will watch short video scenes, answer several questions about these scenes, and later complete a memory test regarding details from the videos. The aim of the research is to examine how perceptual differences that arise during the viewing of events influence how those events are remembered later.

Learning from Self-Generated and AI-Generated Explanations

Explanation

This study aims to examine how receiving assistance from artificial intelligence during elaborative interrogation, one of the effective learning strategies, affects memory performance. During the study, participants will be presented with short information statements. They will be asked either to generate explanations for why the given statements are true or to read explanations provided by artificial intelligence. Afterwards, participants will be asked to complete a memory test regarding the information presented.
